Hello,
Yup, this is my first post and I'm writing this specially for those who are like me or will be like me, desperately looking for any possible tips/info on Shell Scholarship Interview. I am an applicant for the Overseas programme for the year 2014 and has undergone the 1st stage of the interview which is; the phone interview.
So last week I got a missed call from an unknown number, by which I missed because I didn't hear that my phone was ringing. I called the number back and I was really surprised that someone from Shell is on the line. I was surprised particularly because I've waited for so long and nearly give up on the scholarship. Then this person said that she called to arrange the phone interview with me, so we decided to have it on last 2 days.
As promised she called me and tell me the details about the interview.
Right, what are the questions? Are they nice/friendly? Will the questions be tough?
Ahaa! Those were the questions that played in my mind before I was interviewed. I am grateful, thankful and would like to give a huge thank you to those who blogged, commented or giving any kind of help regarding the scholarship! Your posts helped me in preparing myself for the interview.
Basically the interview is divided to 3 parts;
1) Your greatest achievement; what is it, what are the obstacles you faced to achieve it, how did you overcome the obstacles etc.
2) How I learn adapting to changes (1 most obvious change in life); what is it, why is it the most obvious change, what did you learn about yourself from the changes
3) Motivations; why this course? why this university? what do you know about the course?
The interviewer will be writing down all the important points from the interview, so occasionally he/she will ask us to hold on and this is where the situation got awkward!
But there's nothing to be afraid of, as the interviewer will make you feel comfortable all the time, as for me lah. Eheheh. Just stay calm and try your best to answer their questions. Be confident, answer truthfully and most important is never forget to pray to God so He will make everything easy, InshaAllah.
Before we ended she asked me whether I have questions to ask and told me that if I succeed to the next stage, I'll get an e-mail from Shell on the details for the 2nd stage interview.
Hopefully this post will help you guys out there who have been/are looking for tips for the scholarship day and night.
May we all pass the interviews and get the scholarship to achieve our dreams, Ameen.
